I am fascinated by stormwater planning and infrastructure. As the lesser known cousin of 'roads', I believe stormwater is a reflection of a wider infrastructure challenges facing urban regions. It is interesting, therefore, to note the popularity of green infrastructure as cities grapple with mounting stormwater challenges, which often pivot around 'flood risk' . Understanding the roots of green infrastructure shows that stormwater is one major function that cities care about, yet link into a wider basket of objectives such as landscape planning and ecosystem services.
